Cashew nuts market update- 2nd week of January, 2021

**Raw cashew nut: some sale of IVC 49lbs/200 at level 1200-1220 $/ton CNF HCMC, shipment March/April 2020; Very less demand of buying of Ghana with offering at 1400$ CNF HCM for 52lbs/190 shipment in February; Ogbomoso offering at 1300$ cnf HCM for 52lbs but less interest from buyers

We checked with many buyers and they showed interest buying at level 1150 CNF HCM for IVC 49lbs shipment in March/April and Ogbomoso (Nigeria) 49lbs/190 at 1100 CNF HCM;

Indian market: India functions and wedding ceremony started so broken grades have more demand; So Indian buyers booked Ghana origin at 1450$ CNF and last week reduced to 1400$ 

**Cashew Kernels: the most offering at level w320 2.90, w240 3.40 usd/lb FOB from medium packers including BRC packers. Top BRC packers offering w240 3.50-3.55 w320 3.00-3.10 usd/lb ; But we saw very less demand.

Chinese quality: w320 7.50-7.60 usd/kg w240 8.40-8.50 usd/kg for good quality (white kernel, broken 2-3%, defects: less than 5%, moisture 4.5%, NLS: 5% & material: Indonesia or Tanzania); Chinese holidays will start from 11/February so most of shipments from Vietnam must be arrived to China and cleared before end of January. By this time, buyers have time to sell before holidays start.

Ocean freight is still extremely high, making CNF cost for kernels become higher so affecting to kernel buying force.

Top kernel buyers are buying at level w320 2.85, w240 3.32-3.35 FOB

We sold some quantity on last week at level: w240 3.57, w320 3.10, LP 1.25 for top BRC packers; w320 2.90 for good quality HACCP packer; w320 2.85, 240 3.32 for small packers
